On-line Literature Searching. Why? Staff Profile: Jennifer Velasco
We recently made some changes to our web pages. There are now links in the blue sidebar to our Book Loan Policy and Staff list, and we've revamped our Fee Schedule (don't worry--our prices haven't changed). As always, please let us know if you have any suggestions to make our web pages more useful to you.

WTS thanks all of our clients for making 2003 a success. We enjoy working with you and appreciate your business!
In the October 2003 TechSearcher, we told you that we hired more student employees in an effort to decrease our turnaround time. It worked. In November and December of 2003, 95% of filled standard requests (not Rush or Super Rush requests) were delivered to you in three days or less--and that's including weekends and holidays.
Wisconsin TechSearch offers on-line literature searching
as one of its services to our users. But if you already have access to
numerous internet search engines, why consider an on-line search to answer
your information needs?
Jennifer Nowak Velasco is one of WTS's most valuable assets. Jennifer began as a WTS student runner in May of 2000 and by the time she graduated a year later, she was responsible for ILL book loans (for UW Madison patrons) and assited with general office functions and shipping. With the growth of WTS and the number of its student employees, Jennifer is now one of our office managers. She provides work direction for students, logs and searches requests, and deals with clients' problems, while still managing much of the ILL work. In the fall of 2001, Jennifer began graduate school at UW Madison's School of Library and Information Studies. She takes 1-2 classes each semester and still works nearly full-time for WTS. After graduation, she hopes to continue her library career in an academic setting. Jennifer enjoys cooking, drawing, and spending time with friends. She most recently read The Da Vinci Code and re-read Bridget Jones's Diary.
