Jennifer Velasco - New WTS Librarian

Jennifer Velasco became the newest librarian at WTS in February. She began working for WTS when she was an undergrad at UW-Madison and stayed with us until she graduated from library school in May 2005. In July of that year, she began a 6-month limited term professional librarian position at the Wendt Library (where WTS is housed), working as a reference and instruction librarian. When WTS needed a new librarian after Lenny Black retired, we were excited to be able to re-hire Jennifer.

Welcome back, Jennifer!

WTS Survey a Success

Last April, we surveyed our clients in order to find out how well we're doing and how we may be able to improve service. We had an excellent response rate to the survey - over 30%! That great amount of feedback taught us a lot about what our clients like and how their needs may change over the next few years.

We are using the results of the survey in a couple of ways. We are undergoing a major redesign of our web site and request management software and the survey results are driving many of the enhancements. (We hope to have most of the enhancements finished later this summer.)

We also continually think about ways to improve our service, which may involve changing workflows, buying better or different equipment, changing the hours of our student employees, and even just rearranging furniture. The survey results will ensure that we keep your needs in our top priorities.

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to fill out the survey!
